LaMonté French
LaMonté French may humbly repeat his tag line, “I’m just a Creole kid from Houston” - however, this powerhouse artist is quickly making a name for himself among the greats with his fresh expression for social justice issues.
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, French is an abstract-expressionist artist who is fully self-taught. While breaking away from a family legacy of athleticism, French discovered the power of vulnerability and expression in art. His intuition and natural aptitude for his work have served him well in his few short years of painting; LaMonté French sold every piece in his first exhibit, “FUEGO”, within twenty-four hours. Regaining fresh perspective after a stretch of illness and creative stagnation, French is celebrating the artistic and musical influences in his life by conjuring up some of his most inspired pieces to date. His study in human rights through symbolism and collage offers a timeless and exciting expression birthed through new eyes.
